Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to study the impact of the political crisis on bilateral economic relations (mainly trade relations) and interdependency.
The cases of Turkey-Israel and Japan-China relations have been selected for the comparative case study. The following cases are interesting as their contemporary bilateral political and economic relations reflect the similar and different trends of behavior which are less studied in the context of current developments. The role of the countries and the importance of their relations on the regional, as well as on the international level make the issue more attractive for research purposes. The issue is relevant as far as the relations between politics and economics have been frequently discussed in modern interdependent world. The characteristics of Turkey-Israel and Japan-China relations, revealed tendencies and certain developments over the last decade provides adequate ground for studying the influence of political crisis on bilateral relations. Two critical points have been identified as political crises in Turkey-Israel and Japan-China relations based on the analysis of significance and consequences of them. First 2011 Gaza Flotilla incident and second, nationalization of Senkaku/Diaoyu islands by Japan in 2012.
