The annotation The main purpose of the work is to reveal political accents in the Georgian sports press according to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The survey was taken place from January 2017 to July 2017. The study examines 50 issues and 200 articles published in sports newspapers: "Lelo" and "Sarbiel" in August 2008. The Priming theory was chosen as the frame of theory. The above mentioned theory in the context of the study allows to find political accents or frames used in sports newspapers, which can be analyzed. The survey was carried out using content analysis method. With this method, In the sports press, it was possible to gather quantitative data of major political emphasis, systematization and categorization.
The study showed that the war played a significant role in the coverage of sports issues. The military actions launched on 8 August 2008 changed the policy of Georgian sports press and made it more politicized.
The impression was made that the sarcasm used in sports press has been replaced by hate language in some cases. There was a danger of forming and strengthening certain stereotypical attitudes. The study revealed many facts and attempts to use sports press for political reasons. In addition, the report standards on the coverage of sports issues is clearly visible. Wich is found to be known by experts' joint opinion. Structural model of in-depth interview was selected when recording experts.
