Abstract
The NATO – north Treaty Atlantic organization, established after the WORLD WAR II to prevent from external threats.
NATO expansion has some specific and important reasons.one of the reasons in the following: to establish and sustain stability and peace in Europe, to unite European countries in one area and establish democracy.
The next reasons is the expansion expected from the Soviet Union and NATO has begun to extend its monthly expansion. after the collapse Soviet Union NATO continued to expand in order to avoid possible threats that Russia created. Since Russia was a successor of the Soviet Union, it was a great chance to continue Russia’s continued expansion.
Today NATO has 29 member states and the alliance is not going to stop. NATO continues to increase its expansion and to get closer to the Russian territory. NATO’S future plans are precisely for Russia’s neighboring states: Ukraine and Georgia. NATO’S future plans include Bosnia and Herzegovina. Despite the attempts Russia contradicts this expansion and attempts to stop the processes. the fate of Georgia and Ukraine’s integration into NATO is still unclear.
