MA thesis represents the translation and translational analysis of the United Nation’s
publication “Women’s rights are Human Rights”. The book was published in 2014 and consists of 5
chapters and sub-chapters. My thesis represents five chapters (including the Vth C subchapter).
Attaining equality between women and men and eliminating all forms of discrimination
against women are fundamental human rights and the values of United Nations. Women around the
world nevertheless regularly suffer violations of their human rights throughout their lives;
However, realizing women’s human rights has not always been a priority.
The United Nations has a long history of addressing women’s human rights and much progress
has been made in securing women’s rights across the world in recent decades. The publication
provides the introduction to women’s human rights, beginning with the main provisions in the
international human rights law and going on to the explanation of particularly relevant concepts for
full understanding of women’s human rights. The purpose of my MA’s thesis is raising the awareness
of women’s rights, implement action of theoretical knowledge in practice and showing translational
skills.
The facts and analysis presented in the MA thesis give new information, which is interesting
not only for lawyers, but for any specialists, especially, for women.
