In the context of the strategic stability of the 21st century, the relationship between NATO and the European Union is one of the main driving forces. Organizations have solely defined their role in the changing situation of international security, setting their transformation parameters and vectors of development of the European security system. Nevertheless, both organizations see each other as partially competitive and try to play an active role in Europe's international security system.
Despite the difficulties between NATO and the European Union, their interaction is developing both at the official level and in the form of informal dialogue, which is an integral part of the decision-making mechanism.
Today, they are working together and coordinating efforts to avoid competition between organizations.
The following paper mainly discusses the impact of the interaction between them on the development of the European security system, as well as the new mechanisms for establishing relations between organizations and the impediments that hinder the dynamic development of relations between NATO and the European Union.
