Military actions completely destroyed the infrastructure of Abkhazia; the collapse of the socialist system was exacerbated by the incompetence of quasi-state structures and the general disorder. The de facto government of Sukhumi, cut off from the international community, found itself in a difficult situation, since the current situation significantly increased the degree of Abkhazia’s dependence on Russia. Integration with the Russian Federation and complete isolation of this part from the rest of Georgia completely coincides with the strategic 228 course of Russia; therefore Russia has become the main financial donor and trade and economic partner of the quasi-state. The Kremlin is not interested in integrating Abkhazia with the West; it concludes bilateral agreements that are not popular in Abkhazia, because these documents even abolish their ostensible sovereigntykaსამეურნეო ყოფააფხაზეთიEconomic lifeAbkhaziaსამეურნეო ყოფა და ეკონომიკური ურთიერთობის ჩრდილოეთის ვექტორი ოკუპირებულ აფხაზეთშიEconomic life and economic vector to the North in occupied Abkhaziajournal articlehttps://doi.org/10.48616/openscience-448
