    Free Energies of Polyatomic Polarizable Dipole‐Active Particles in Polar Media
    (Wiley, 1989-07)
    Marsagishvili, Tamazi
    ;
    Matchavariani, Marine
    A calculation method is given of free energy change of polyatomic polarizable dipole-active particles at their dissolution in inhomogeneous polar media. Two mechanisms of interaction between the particles and polar media are considered: solvatational and fluctuational mechanisms including ion–dipole and dipole–dipole interactions. Received analytical expressions permit to carry out the calculations for the dissoluted particles with any finite number of intramolecular degrees of freedom, taking into account the spatial and frequency dispersion of media.

    Separation selectivity in chiral capillary electrophoresis with charged selectors l
    (1997)
    Chankvetadze, B.
    This review summarizes the separation selectivity in chiral capillary electrophoresis with charged selectors. Different parameters for a description of the separation selectivity, i.e., the absolute and the relative mobility difference between the enantiomers, the ratio of apparent mobilities and the ratio of effective mobilities as well as the intrinsic (recognition) selectivity, are compared. The electrophoretic mobility of the enantiomers and their migration with the electroosmotic flow are discussed from the viewpoint of separation selectivity. The affinity and mobility- related contributions in the separation selectivity with charged chiral selectors are separately considered. The selectivity of the separations using charged chiral selectors as carriers, in systems with a combination of chiral selectors as well as selectivity in chiral capillary electrochromatography are also briefly addressed.

    Late Paleolithic graphic images from Agtsa cave
    (Association of Modern Scientific Investigation (AMSI), 2001)
    Izoria, Maia
    There is no research about the late Paleolithic graphic images from Agtsa cave, except for one article, published by the archeologist V. Soloviov, the discoverer of the cave. The Agtsa cave is located in 8 km from Akhali Athoni, the township Anukhva, in Abkhazia. There are the pictures scribbled on the walls of the cave, situated on inaccessible rock. These pictures fit in to three chronological periods. On the left side of the wall, dispersed like a strap. The plane is covered with multitude of lines and dashes. On that plane a figure, branching off the vertical axis, is expressly carved. The geometric combinations, made by unpractised hands are distinctive for different countiries- central Europe, Africa, etc. The closest parallels are the graphic figures of Mgvimevi near the Chiatura in the Imereti region. According to ethnographical data these figures express the cosmogony of ancient people. They are related to the vital element of the universe, with the sun, fire, earth and water. It appears that these elements were the objects of magic observances taking place in this cave. In Agtsa the sacred concepts are expressed specifically by the conventional signs of the sunray, rain and vegetal motif. The vegetal motif is most remarkable and is considered as an early form of the tree of life. By its style of execution and technique Agtsa is typical sample of the late Paleolithic period. It extends the research area from the point of view of exploring pictures scribbles on a rock.

    Seignorial system of the “Abkhazian kingdom”
    (Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi State University of Language and Culture, 2004)
    Gloveli, Shalva
    The article stresses that the Abkhazian principality, formerly being the frontier community of the Byzantium, was transformed into a domain of the signorial type. It was created on the initiative of its ruler, Leo II, who was a "strategos", "Eristavi". This principality became the basis of the "Kingdom of the Abkhazians". The "Abkhazian Kingdom" was characterized by features of the seignorial system both in state and church life. It must be assumed that a developed feudal society existed in this kingdom.

    The Pieces on History of the Joint Reigning in Georgia
    (Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi State University of Language and Culture, 2005)
    Gloveli, Shalva
    The article deals with the issues of the history of the Western Georgian state, so called Apkhaz Kingdom. It is showed that the politics of that state maintained the institution of joint reigning. It is also said, sometimes there the rules of succession were violated. For instance, king Konstantine III declared his co-reigner not senior son Giorgi, but junior Bagrat. We hold that for a certain period both btothers had been reigning jointly. The junior Bagrat reigned also jointly with his father Konstantine III. The lack of historical data does not give us opportunity to say was the joint reigning in the ApkhazKingdom legalised act or actual state based on force. The article also clarifies dates of such joint reigns. It is recognized that coreigning of Bagrat with Konstantine III started in 918, before the death the King of Kakheti Kvirike I. Thus, the joint reign of Giorgi II and his brother Bagrat took place since 922, from the death of Konstantine III up to the death of Bagrat himself.

    Main trends of Georgian artistic ceramics in the 1970-1980s
    (Georgian Museums Association, 2006)
    Izoria, Maia
    Georgian artistic ceramics, which comprises monumental, expositional and utilitarian branches, with its many-sided character has been attracting special since 1970s. This time under the influence of monumental-decorative art it distinctly shows : aspiration for confluence to space, that provokes approachment to the imitative arts and intensification of artistic expressiveness of ceramic models. R. Iashvili's works are typical examples of spreading tendencies of that time. His zoomorphic vessels for drinking with their various, colorful and industrial effectiveness acquire ornamental speech, though the artist panels in the direction of monumental ceramics. At first he creates decorative, plastic models for parks and then he creates projects of architectural and sculptural ensembles. He also decorates building interiors and intensifies decorations of panels with the combination of various materials (stone, metal, clay). With this purpose he begins many-sided experiments for the creation of mixed techniques of ceramic paint. With this technique R. Iashvili fulfills pictorial and graphical painted decorative panels, having an ability (in spite of their small size) to become the work of a big volume and decorate any space of the buildings. R. Iashvili's works reveal, that Georgian artistic ceramics creates the works of clay with very original, decorative expressiveness in 1970-1980s.

    Some aspects of physical and chemical adsorption on surface of amorphous solid
    (Springer Netherlands, 2006)
    Marsagishvili, Tamazi
    ;
    Matchavariani, Marine
    ;
    Kirillov, S.A.
    Theoretical calculation of rate constant of adsorption of polyatomic particles on the surface of amorphous solid is carried out in this work. Calculation is conducted within the frames of quantum theory. The question of the characteristics (geometric parameters and frequencies of intramolecular vibrations) of polyatomic polarizable adsorbing particles in polar medium is considered. Calculations are carried out taking into account the interaction of intramolecular vibrations of the particle with polarization fluctuations of the medium. The proposed scheme of calculations allows taking into account the effects of frequency and spatial dispersion of amorphous solid. Events of physical and chemical adsorption are considered.

    Decorative searches in Georgian artistic modern ceramics of the 1960s (According to the creativity of Revaz Iashvili)
    (Association of Modern Scientific Investigation (AMSI), 2006)
    Izoria, Maia
    The work contains analysis of the "Decorative Searches", which developed during the 60's of the last century in Georgian ornamental ceramics, the origin of which is related to the problem of synthesis of art. These tendencies are characteristic for creativity of exclusively all masters of ceramic, but works of R. Iashvili take special place place among them. He is the pioneer, who begins searching for original ceramic forms, appurtenant for synthesis with building, resting upon new tendencies. The artist carries out intensive experiments in this direction and technologically analyses those materials, which he applies within the frameworks of one work. By means of combination of clay and metal, in this period R. Iashvili accomplished several works of utilitarian and decorative function. Popularization of chamotte mass (a sort of clay), less developed in Georgia in that period of time, is also related to his name. He is the first, who creates thematic cycle ("Harvest Holiday") of relieves, appurtenant for the internal space of constructions, of this material, which stylistically approximates the monuments of Georgian monumental plastics. At the same time it characterizes current tendencies in modern sculpture. Later R. Iashvili adorns fine architectural forms, stipulated to be put up on open space, of relieves of chamotte mass. Decoration of the springs situated in the green cover of Zedazeni Mountain, is one of the first works made in the sphere of Georgian monumental and decorative ceramics. Since the middle of 1960's the artist is concerned with the problems of acquirement of the space so much, that he made it his aim to take out also utilitarian form to an open space. This is how park-decorative plastic art appear in his creative work : flower vases and a big sculpture of a bull, made of chamotte mass, in the basis of which a zoomorphic drink lays. Analysis of works of R. Iashvili gives us the opportunity to make a conclusion that Georgian monumental and decorative sculpture and also ceramic plastic arts develop in one and the same definite direction. This sphere manifests a whole series of novelties with relations to this sphere, which is seen in creativity of almost all artists and causes establishment of Georgian Artistic school of Modern Ceramics.
